The Ordway opened in 1985 without an endowment. From this stems a series of financial challenges that have hampered its users ever since.
The $32 million access endowment in the Arts Partnership Campaign will help all the Partners meet these challenges. The endowment will bring the Ordway’s economics closer to the national standard for performing arts centers. It will also allow all four Arts Partners to put more of their resources into programming for the community. The endowment is the common economic interest of the Partners. It is the spot where the needs of the Partners intersect with the best interest of the community.
